With only a few days to go before the off, we’re busy packing up our new (old) camper for a month long trip round Scotland. All six of us are going, Jim and I, the three kids and our lurcher, Roma. We think the van will make it! It’s Jim’s pride and joy, and he’s very quickly turning into one of those VW enthusiasts that wave to each other all the time.
The plan is to start our trip at my brother’s on the Essex coast, and then head up to Lincolnshire, Durham, and finally into Scotland. We’ll spend a week in Jura, and then mosey across to Aberdeenshire via Perthshire, and from there zigzag back across to Diabaig on the West coast. We’ll stop wherever takes our fancy en route, but spend the best part of a week in Diabaig, before crawling down the stunning West coast via Skye until get to Lockerbie. From there we’ll come down through the Lake District and the Peak District and finally back to Ealing.
We’ll keep a blog of our trip and the food we enjoy along the way – whether we cook it or not!
